Soap is made up of two drugs – Ketoconazole and Cetrimide. Ketoconazole is an azole antifungal. It treats athlete’s foot, jock itch, dandruff and ringworm. It also treats pityriasis (lightening or darkening of the skin). Cetrimide is used as an antiseptic and disinfectant which can help in treating various skin problems. It cures minor burns and prevents skin infections.
Minor side effects of ketoconazole which may occur are Hair loss or Itching or skin rash. Though this drug is also used for orally, then it may cause a major problem. Side effects of cetrimide include rash and redness of the skin. Also skin blistering, a burning sensation may occur which is very rare.
It is just like any other soap, so there is no specific guideline on the usage of the product. Just apply it on the infected area, regularly while having a bath.
