Clotrimazole Soap

Clintol Soap is a class of anti-fungal drugs called imidazoles and is mainly used to cure fungal skin infections like athlete’s foot, ringworm, fungal nappy rash, fungal sweat rash, and thrush. Fungal infection or mycosis is a skin infection that occurs due to fungus.

Clintol Soap contains clotrimazole, which acts by killing the fungus that causes the infection. Clintol Soap kills the fungal cell membrane and leads to the leakage of the contents, thereby killing the fungus and treating the infection.

In a few instances, Clintol Soap can lead to itching, redness, dryness, burning, and stinging. Most of these Clintol Soap side effects will resolve on their own over time without the intervention of a doctor. Talk to your doctor if side effects become severe or do not go away.

Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ):

Q. Can I discontinue the use of Clintol Soap once I feel better?

Your symptoms might resolve before the infection is fully treated. Thus, it would be recommended to take the full course of treatment even if you start feeling better.

Q. Is it safe to use Clintol Soap long-term?

Do not use Clintol Soap for more than four weeks unless instructed by a physician. If used over long periods, the fungus might develop resistance to Clintol Soap.

Q. How long should I continue using Clintol Soap? Can I discontinue if the symptoms have gone?

You should use Clintol Soap as long as your doctor recommends. The length of treatment depends on the type of infection. For tinea infection, treatment is usually carried out for 1 month, and candida infection, a minimum of 15 days. Do not discontinue taking Clintol Soap by yourself even if you recover because the infection can relapse since killing the fungus takes some time.
