Mometasone Furoate & Terbinafine HCL Cream
Mometasone Furoate + Terbinafine Hydrochloride is a topical dermatological medicine that is used to treat fungal infections of the skin. It is employed in the treatment of several skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, dermatitis, and tinea versicolor (lightening or darkening of neck, chest, arm, or leg skin). Fungal infection is the result of a fungus infecting and invading the skin tissue.
Mometasone Furoate + Terbinafine Hydrochloride is a fixed-dose combination of two medications, i.e.,: Mometasone furoate (corticosteroid) and Terbinafine hydrochloride (antifungal). Mometasone furoate inhibits the formation of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that cause redness, swelling, and itching in the affected area. Terbinafine hydrochloride inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane (a substance found within the fungi to help maintain cell integrity) and leads to fungal cell death.
